The University Student Court (USC) is the judicial branch of the Student Association at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (SA). The Court consists of seven Student Justices. The USC has jurisdiction over questions arising from the SA constitution, student organizational constitutions, by-laws, statutes, and resolutions of any student governing body. It is the final source in all matters regarding the interpretation of the SA constitution and its legislation.

Its sitting members have the power to hear and enter judgment in all cases, as well as to fashion appropriate, just and equitable remedies, including reasonable fines.

On February 23, the University Student Court attended the American Student Government Association Conference with other members of the Student Association. As you may be aware, the entire Court budget, including the conference, comes from segregated fees paid by UWM students. On behalf of the University Student Court, I'd like to thank you for this fantastic opportunity. The Court's main goal was to brush up on Parliamentary Procedure (which we use to make sure that Senate proceedings are legal), and to network with students from other schools. I was personally fortunate enough to meet students from New Jersey, California, and Texas, to name a few. We exchanged many ideas and learned a lot from each other, all to make sure that our Court is the best it can be. In addition to thanking you for the opportunity to attend this conference, I would also like to let you know about upcoming opportunities with the Court. The University Student Court is the highest judicial authority of the Student Association, and its members decide on matters that impact students in many ways. Beginning in May, there will be positions opening on the Court. We need motivated, hard-working students to carry on our mission of serving UWM students.
