Campus WiFi

Wireless access is available in most campus public spaces including buildings off the main Kenwood campus (e.g., RiverView, Kenilworth and Cambridge Commons residential halls). Wireless service is not available in residence hall rooms. Each student living in a residence hall is provided with a port requiring an Ethernet cable to access the campus network and Internet.

Need an Ethernet cable?  The UWM TechStore sells a variety of Ethernet cables, adapters and wireless routers. Visit them in Bolton Hall 225A, or shop online.

Good news!

The UWM Wireless Network team has developed a workaround that now allows Google Chromebooks (e.g., HP, Samsung, Acer, Lenovo, etc.) to connect to the UWM WiFi Service.  This includes all UWM WiFi options—public, UWMWiFi, eduroam and Sponsored.

NOTE: While UWM’s WiFi services were configured to support Chromebooks, the devices may not work off-campus where networks haven’t been altered to accommodate them. Google has pledged to update their operating system for broader compatibility in the future.
