PROWLnet is the wireless services in public spaces such as hallways, and lounge areas throughout the rest of campus buildings. PROWLnet is not a secure network. PROWLnet has only been installed as a "HotSpot" service in common university areas with the intent of student convenience. We strongly advise that University Business be conducted via secure network connections to avoid violation of HIPAA, FERPA, etc. Currently the secure connection options on campus are: (1) a hard-wired network data port or (2) the "UWMWiFi" and "eduroam" options of the UWM WiFi Service.
