UWM WiFi Service Options
UWMWiFi authenticated access – This option provides secure access via encryption and should be used by all students, faculty and staff when conducting University business. Access requires set up of your device; see Set-up Instructions Web page. After initial login, there is automatic access to UWMWiFi. NOTE: Individuals with a Mac computer will be required to log in again if they have “locked” their device. (This is a known Mac OS issue with the wireless technology in use.)
UWMGuest - This secure option is for visitors sponsored by UWM faculty or staff and who require secure high speed wireless Web access. Guests are given a user name and password for use to access UWM WiFi only. More information at Sponsored Guest Access Web page.
Public - access is unsecured one-hour (renewable) limited bandwidth Web-only access. It does not require an ePantherID and password or device set-up. The public access option is not recommended for students, faculty or staff conducting University business.
eduroam – eduroam is a secure worldwide federated network of over 3,500 institutions providing access for visitors to their local wireless service. UWM faculty, staff and students can use their ePantherID and password at eduroam institutions. Use of eduroam access requires device set-up here at UWM prior to visiting the eduroam institution. (See Set-up Instructions Web page.) Visit eduroam.org for more information and a list of participating institutions.
