To find the computer name (hostname) of your computer:

Windows XP
From the desktop, right click on My Computer, select Properties, then click on the Computer Name tab. You will see a line that lists the full computer name. It will resemble this configuration:

UIT-EXAMPLE-D1.ad.uwm.edu

Windows 7

Go to the start menu, right click on Computer, select properties. Under Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings, you will see the line that lists the full computer name. It will resemble this configuration:

UIT-EXAMPLE-D1.ad.uwm.edu

Mac OS X
From the Apple menu, select System Preferences, then select the Sharing pane. The computer name will be displayed in a box at the top.
