WEP is a collaborative water research center comprised of industry and university members. It operates under the auspices of the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) 20-year old Industry/University Collaborative Research Center (I/UCRC) program.
WEP’s industry members decide which research projects to fund from the many proposed by university scientists. The universities and industry work closely together to manage and administer WEP to meet member needs. NSF closely monitors WEP to ensure it adheres to the best business practices developed over 20 years and followed by the more than 50 NSF I/UCRCs currently operating across the country.
