The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee recognizes the desire for more effective assessment of higher education activities expressed by students, parents, community leaders and state and federal legislators. The Reaccreditation Steering Committee has been charged with preparing UWM for reaccreditation under the guiding principle that its work would be of long-term use to the University, not only in meeting the requirements for accreditation, but also in assessing progress toward goals and mapping a future direction for the institution. This documentation was written with the purpose of highlighting ways in which the University uses data to guide decision making and enhance the effectiveness of its Academic, Research and Administrative enterprises.
