    The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is the leading body for the assessment of climate change, established by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) to provide the world with a clear scientific view on the current state of climate change and its potential environmental and socio-economic consequences.
  3. Earth Trends: Environmental Informational Portal
    Developed by the World Resources Institute, EarthTrends provides an incredibly rich resource for information concerning the environment. This is definitely the place to start.
  4. EnviroLink
    EnviroLink is dedicated to providing you with the most comprehensive, up-to-date environmental resources available. This site features a great collection of resources for environmental education.
  5. Environmental Education Link (EE Link)
    EE-Link develops and organizes Internet resources to support, enhance, and extend effective environmental education in grades K-12. This site is a great resource for online information.
  6. Rainforest Action Network
    The Rainforest Action Network, or RAN, focuses on the preservation of rainforests worldwide. The RAN web site features general information about rainforests, as well as teaching resources for middle and elementary school grade levels.
  7. World Wildlife Fund
    This site is loaded with information about a variety of environmental issues related to development including climate change, pollution, and human consumption.
  8. IRIN - The Gathering Storm
    IRIN is a project of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs which provides humanitarian news and analysis. Their in-depth report entitled The Gathering Storm features on-going stories of the humanitarian impact of climate change, including short films highlighting the experiences of communities in Africa and Asia.
  9. Reports from a Warming Planet
    An audio documentary that visits communities in countries such as Bangladesh, Tanzania and Ecuador that are already being impacted by global climate change.
  10. Carbon Watch
    Multimedia programs on the efforts to reduce carbon emissions through carbon trading - the series examines which approaches hold the most promise, and who stands to gain or lose in the new carbon marketplace.
  11. Climate Change: Images of Impacts and Adaptations
    An online exhibit created by the Rockefeller Foundation that features photos and stories from around the world, with an emphasis on the current impacts of climate change on environment and society, as well as examples of potential solutions.
  12. Living on the Edge: the Human Consequences of Climate Change
    A Frontline/World documentary featuring stories from Nepal, Namibia and Kenya, where the effects of climate change are already being felt.
