ESL ITA Oral Skills
for International Teaching Assistants
This non-credit course offers extensive practice in English pronunciation and presentation skills, and the course includes familiarization with academic culture and norms.
The class meets weekly for one two-hour session and each participant also meets weekly one-on-one with the instructor for individual practice and feedback on speaking skills. Each student will take the UW-Milwaukee International Teaching Assistant Assessment (MITAA) at the end of the course and be given a final MITAA score.
MITAA score and advance registration required.
Class is designed for graduate students with teaching assistantship appointments. The tuition for the course will be posted to students' PAWS accounts. UWM Schools/Colleges and/or Departments will be billed for this course by the English as a Second Language Programs.
