Apply for Financial Aid

All students and families are strongly encouraged to apply for financial aid every year. The first step in the process includes filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This should be done online at www.fafsa.gov. Click on the image below to be taken to the FAFSA site for more information and to start your application.

Watch the following presentation for an overview of the FAFSA and financial aid awarding: FAFSA Overview

Please note that March 1 is our priority filing date for enrollment that begins the following fall. However, many funds are limited, so you are encouraged to file as soon after January 1 as possible. Once the priority filing date has passed, you are still encouraged to apply for aid. As long as you are still enrolled in classes or the enrollment period hasn’t begun, you will be offered aid from the programs that have funding remaining at the time your file is reviewed. The final date to submit a FAFSA is actually June 30 AFTER the academic year is over. (i.e., June 30, 2014 for the 2013-2014 academic year.)  However, keep in mind that we may not be able to offer you financial aid, or certify any loans, after a term has ended and/or you are no longer enrolled.  The entire process can take 6-10 weeks.

For details on basic FAFSA info, what it is and how to fill it out, you are encouraged to visit the Department of Education's site, http://studentaid.ed.gov.  Additional information on the application process, types of aid, and details on completing online loan requirements are also discussed throughout our site and in the video links below.
