Tips for 2nd year transfers
You’ve been working hard for a few years and are ready for UWM. Get your application in, including your transcripts with all your completed work and anything you have in progress to us soon. The earlier you get admitted, the easier it will be to pick up right where you left off, and get into those competitive higher level courses. What makes an application complete?
Coming from a University of Wisconsin school or Wisconsin Technical College? Find out what your courses will transfer in as at the Transfer Information System (TIS).
Are you ready to dive right into your major? There are GPA and prerequisite requirements for every major. Check out your major’s page to see if you’ve met them.
Once you’re admitted, set up a meeting with your academic advisor. Your advisor is your partner and guide to completing your degree at UWM. Build this relationship and ensure your success.

You may have already done financial aid paperwork at your current school, but you’ll need to add our school code, 003896, to your FAFSA in order to receive aid at UW-Milwaukee. If you haven't applied for aid yet, it isn't too late to do so. Every institution has unique financial aid opportunities to offer you.
