Spanish and Portuguese Conversation Groups

Club ñ (UWM Spanish conversation group)

Club ñ is a conversational group sponsored by the Department of Spanish & Portuguese. It is an informal group that meets twice a week for students who want to practice their Spanish language skills in a relaxed, grade-free environment, where they won’t be afraid of saying things the wrong way. It encourages students to use Spanish at all times, and gives them the opportunity to expand upon their knowledge, with new vocabulary, situational use of the language, and friendly conversation with various topics.

This semester Club ñ meets Mondays from 2:30 to 3:30 and Thursdays from 12:30 to 1:30 in Curtin Hall 739.

Bate-papo (UWM Portuguese conversation group)

UW-Milwaukee has a nighttime "bate-papo" (chat) on campus, coordinated by a student organization! Come speak Portuguese with your friends, classmates, and members of the community.

Practice your Portuguese conversation skills with your fellow students and community members! All levels of Portuguese are welcome - even if you are just beginning your studies. Grab a drink and develop your Portuguese skills in a comfortable and (at times) highly entertaining atmosphere. Esperamos vê-los em breve!

We generally meet weekly on Tuesdays at 7pm at the Gasthaus, located in the lower level of the UW-Milwaukee Student Union. Parking is available in the Union garage, as well as on side streets. On the second Tuesday of each month within the academic calendar, we generally meet at the local coffee shop Alterra (Humboldt Avenue).
