Students are key research partners and clinical partners in the College of Nursing. Students earn either a PhD in Nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Degree. Students design projects that increase the discipline of nursing's knowledge base and that influence how practice is undertaken.
U.S. News & World Report consistently ranks the College of Nursing at UWM among the top ten percent of nursing schools with graduate programs because our students play such an active role in research and clinical practice. Such involvement leads to the creation of bold, effective solutions that promote wellness. More than 33 percent of our faculty and scientists are American Academy of Nursing Fellows, an achievement that provides our students with the opportunity to learn from the best scientists and educators.
Every academic program is enhanced by the full UWM experience: a top research university with more than 14 schools and colleges, a diverse, dynamic campus-life scene that blends academics and the arts, entertainment and culture, collegiate traditions and 21st century innovation.
