House of Peace Community Nursing Center

Located within the House of Peace Community Center in the Walnut Way neighborhood, the House of Peace Community Nursing Center staff develop strong and lasting relationships with clients and are active advocates for their health and well-being. Wellness groups, a cancer survivor gift closet for wigs and other personal items, assessment and referral and intensive nurse case management expand the safety-net primary care provided by nurse practitioners and clinicians. Clients include African American and Hmong residents from the surrounding area. Many College of Nursing students benefit from having their community health clinical experiences at the House of Peace Community Nursing Center.

  • Diabetic and Blood Pressure Monitoring and Counseling
  • Adult Wellness Classes with House of Peace
  • Gift Closet for Breast Cancer Survivors
  • Support services for families dealing with cancer
