Welcome to your gateway to Undergraduate Research at UWM: The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR). UWM is thrilled to announce the creation of a multi-disciplinary Office of Undergraduate Research working exclusively to connect undergraduates with vital, educational, and diverse research projects across campus. The opening of the OUR represents a new campus wide commitment to expanding research opportunities for undergraduates and strengthening the already rich tradition of research innovation and excellence cultivated at UWM.
We will serve as a research resource for students and faculty by advising, coordinating, and implementing a wide variety of research partnerships. There are quite a few new and exciting research initiatives already underway. For instance, the College of Engineering and Applied Science will be expanding their faculty and course offerings to focus intensely on training undergraduates to begin research careers as early as possible; the Center for International Education is now able to offer students travel grants to engage in international research; and there are a wide variety of new opportunities in departments across the College of Letters and Science.
The possibilities to become actively involved in creating knowledge, exploring career options, and developing your critical thinking and writing skills are truly endless. If you want to find out more about the OUR and how to become involved in research please call (414.229.2666) or email Tamara Long, program specialist (firstname.lastname@example.org), for more details.
