Paid Undergraduate Research Internship: Center on Age & Community

TimeSlips is a national program based at UWM’s Center on Age & Community that brings meaningful, creative engagement into people’s lives, particularly those dealing with cognitive disabilities.  Based at UWM, TimeSlips’ national office oversees 12 training bases across the country and a vibrant website.

Our internship is designed to give students the opportunity to learn the mechanics of such a national program, and to give them meaningful ways to help us grow.  Current projects that an intern might help us with include:

  1. Local pilot of a storytelling celebration at Central Library
  2. Creation of a “story kit”
  3. Hosting of a national Think Tank on transforming activities in long term care settings
  4. Creation of a “conference package” to showcase the project at national conferences
  5. Raising national profile through web presence (facebook etc.)

Desired Skills:
  1. Considerable computer savvy
  2. Great people skills
  3. Takes direction and shows initiative
  4. Basic research skills
  5. Solid writing skills

Commitment:
Meet once a week with TimeSlips Director
5 hours of work per week
Pay: 10$/hour
