Obtaining Administrative Access to PAWS



The following information is for Faculty and Staff only. Students automatically receive access to PAWS as part of the admissions process.
  1. Establish an EPanther ID and Password if you do not already have one.

  2. Complete the FERPA Tutorial and Quiz. No one is granted access to PAWS until the FERPA quiz has been successfully completed.

  3. Complete the appropriate PAWS Authorization Request Form from the list below. These forms are fillable Adobe Acrobat .pdf files which means you can fill them out online, print them off and sign them:

    Be sure to read the 'Acknowledgement of Expectations' on the authorization form.

    If you have questions about data access, fill out a PAWS Help Form and someone will get back to you.

  4. Have your supervisor sign the form and forward it to the appropriate person listed on the form.

  5. Once you have been authorized, you will receive your operator ID and password from UITS Security Staff via email.

  6. Perform any necessary default set-up covered in training.
If you already have access, but need authorization for additional data, follow the steps above for the new area. FERPA training only needs to be completed once.
