Welcome to the Department of Art & Design
We are a distinguished faculty of artists, designers, and educators, an active and diverse group of more than 1,000 art and design undergraduate and graduate students, and a dedicated staff. We offer a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art; Bachelor of Fine Arts with Teacher Certification (Art Education); Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts, Design Studies, Community Art and Digital Fabrication and Design, and Art and Design Minor. At the graduate level, the Department of Art & Design is committed to diverse ideas and approaches to art that foster an experimental attitude in keeping with contemporary art practice. We offer Master of Arts (MA); Master of Fine Arts (MFA); and Master of Science in Art Education (MS) degrees.
Take time to explore our studio areas in ceramics, cross-disciplinary studio, digital studio practice, fibers, Design & Visual Communication, jewelry/metalsmithing, painting/drawing, print and narrative forms, photography, and sculpture as well as the new programs in Community Art and Digital Fabrication and Design. Our studios are located in three distinct buildings: the Art Building and Mitchell Hall on the main campus and the recently renovated Peck School of the Arts' Kenilworth Square East faculty and graduate studio research building located a mile south of campus.
