Catherine Hansen joined SOIS after having worked in both academic and public libraries for over 10 years. Her research interests include LIS education and public libraries. She’s on her local public library board and was appointed by the Governor to the Council of Library and Networking Development for the state of Wisconsin. She teaches the Foundations of Library and Information Science, Introduction to Reference Services, Public Libraries and Managing Library Collections courses. She has an MLIS from SOIS, an MA in Political Science from the University of New Mexico, and is currently working on her doctorate in Leadership in Higher Education at Cardinal Stritch.
